EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement

On 24 December 2020, the EU and UK found middle ground and, as a result of lengthy negotiations, revealed the draft of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
The Agreement which is to be signed by both parties today, sets out the rules of the new EU-UK partnership, among other, in the fields of:
- Trade in goods;
- Services and investment;
- Aviation and road transport;
- Level playing field for open and fair competition and sustainable development;
- Law enforcement and judicial cooperation in criminal matters;
- UK participation in EU programmes and activities.
Even though the Agreement has not yet entered into force, the EU and UK agreed to provisionally apply the Agreement from 1 January 2021 until 28 February 2021.
